Mathius Ian Rogerson IV
Mathius “Matty” Rogerson was raised among the Aegis Kai Doru. Groomed to take on the family tradition of tracking down and obtaining lost relics, it seems that Matty was destined for something greater. At least until an expedition took Mr Rogerson Sr. and Matty deep into Thailand, they encountered an ancient shrine. It seems the shrine was deeply tied to an ancient power node and dedicated to luck and prosperity. The site they held before them was like none other seen in nearly a generation. Ancient treasures from the last 1000 years littered the giant statues, basins, covering the place from floor like a rich carpet of priceless knowledge. Not knowing what forces governed the site, Matty pulled an ancient kriss from the trove near the weather worn idol near the center of the room. Like the adventure movies of old, the temple shrine shook and trembled, and the group barely escaped with their lives. Low on supplies (having lost many of them in the partial collapse) the expedition returned to find the land in chaos, and it was quickly determined that Matty’s removal of the kriss upset the balance of power in the mystical energy node governing the areas luck and prosperity, resulting in the Collapse of the currency of Thailand, which in turn sparks the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis. It seemed that the kriss also had bonded to young Matty, refusing to ever be very from hand. Mr Rogerson Sr., after many months of research, puzzled out that depositing an item of relative worth would realign the shrine, and returned later with an excavation crew as well. Today, the Aegis Kai Doru now studies the artifacts within it as they the shrine & temple grounds, and excavate the original temple and the secret it holds. To this day, Matty is known for collapsing a world treasure, something a few of the elders hope will outgrow him in time.
